The exhibition “I Packed Alone” starting point is Jewboy’s (Yaron Shin) personal archive, that contains works that have never been shown before. The majority of Jewboy’s works embody uniq creatures, figures and quirky characters when some are inspired by the artist’s close-ones, while others completely fictitious. Jewboy gives the viewer an intimate and complex look using the most modest toolbox - pencil, pen, cardboard, sticky notes. He leaves the file behind and brings the raw material to the front. 1of135 gallery’s salon is wrapped in brown wrapping paper, as a natural continuation to the artist's works, having in mind the concept of traveling to an unknown destination, or alternatively, returning from it.
Yaron Shin (also known as Jewboy), currently chair of the Visual Communications Department at Wizo Haifa, is a well-known designer, illustrator and animator and one of the first and most prominent 1of135 gallery artists. Shin has graduated from the Graphic Design Program at Wizo Haifa as well as Master's studies in Visual and Media Communication from Utrecht, The Netherlands.
Yaron is also engaged in artistic management, a member of the "Salon" artist group, a freelance designer, illustrator and animator working mainly in the field of culture and art.
