Irit Hayon, designer, artist, curator, and founder of the 1of135 Gallery, brings her eclectic approach to the field of art.
Irit creates connections between different periods, memories, techniques, styles, and materials. Her eclectic approach is evident in her personal collection, which she has gathered over the years for her home. The collection reflects her personality and bears the unique imprint of her artistic vision. In her works, Irit explores various social concepts through captivating collages.
She creates unexpected encounters between textures and materials in a free arrangement, alongside precise and meticulous digital graphic elements.
Her artworks address complex issues by deconstructing them into their components, exposing and abstracting the layers, observing the parts as a whole, and reconnecting them into a symbiotic collection.
Throughout the gallery’s activity, Irit has curated a variety of exhibitions, including the exhibition honoring "100 Years Since the Birth of Yitzhak Rabin" at the National Memorial Center, the solo exhibition I Packed Alone by artist Jewboy, the group exhibition No Rainbows Without Rain, the group exhibition Barefoot, and more. In addition, she has actively participated in international design and art conferences, such as Ambiente Messe in Frankfurt, and Israel's Design Week, among others. Irit is a graduate of Visual Communication from WIZO Haifa, and the owner of an established branding company, leading branding processes both in Israel and internationally.
After winning design competitions in Israel and abroad, she was selected to be part of the judging panel for the 2024 National Branding Competition.
In her vision, Irit strives to promote the consumption of valuable local Israeli art, to distance herself as much as possible from mass-produced art, strengthen the connection between the worlds of art and design, and make art accessible to all those who seek it.
